The whole world is using the internet, and studies show that we are spending more time on social media sites and search engines than ever before.

With this in mind, the internet can undoubtedly become an amazing tool for advertising.

Two of the places businesses are using to advertise are  Facebook and  Google, but which one is better?

One thing any business will want to know is which one will give you the most for your money?

Well, Google Ads have shown to cost up to 5 times more than Facebook Ads.

Though this may seem like a defining aspect as to where to advertise, there are many other factors to consider.

Here are some of the main differences between Facebook and Google Ads which you should keep in mind before deciding.

With Facebook we all know that it is visited by millions of people every day. But the thing to remember is that your ad will show up on Facebook and only Facebook.

Google has a number of other search partners such as AOL and YouTube, so your advert will reach a much wider audience.

Another point to add is that people go on Facebook to speak to their friends and network. Apart from that, we can’t really be sure of the user’s intention.

Conversely, Google is a search engine so we know that the user is searching for something and therefore more likely to be in a ‘buying mode’.

Another great feature of Google Ads is that it puts your advert up on sites related to the product or service you are offering depending on the keywords you use. However this may not necessarily mean that you are reaching your target audience as you can’t really be sure who is visiting which site.

This is where Facebook excels from a demographics point of view because it allows you to reach a targeted audience.

With Facebook, you can reach people within profile parameters that you specify such as age, gender and likes. You can even target people through keywords that appear on their interests and this is a great marketing tool.

Another aspect of advertising on Facebook is branding. Since Facebook is the most popular social media site on the internet, advertising there raises your company profile and presence.

Though you can gain presence on Google and its other sites, this is more scattered so you can never be entirely sure of where you advert will end up and just how effective it will be.

After looking at these points, we can see that both sites can be very useful in your marketing campaign. Whilst Google enables you to reach a wider audience, Facebook allows you to target a specific audience.

The key thing you need to remember is which type of users are more likely to see your advertisement and which ones will be more interested in your service or product. Then you can decide which site to use.
