Solar Power Gaining Some Big Backers with White House and the NY Jets

Most people know at least a little something about solar power but this week solar rose to the front page as the New York Jets, NASA and the White House have all decided to install solar power.

The New York Jets installed 3,000 Yingli Solar panels on the roof of team headquarters and training center in Florham Park, NJ and they now have the largest solar power system at any headquarters facility in the NFL. The system is designed to produce approximately 750 megawatt-hours of electricity a year and is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by 540 metric tons each year. Installation began in June and was completed about eight weeks later.
